I come into work today and look at The Japan Times on my desk, only to see a standalone photo of little glow-in-the-dark pigs with the headline “Eggs and green ham.” The pigs really do glow, thanks to an infusion of jellyfish DNA when they were but wee embryos. (We tried to talk our Japanese translator into injecting some jellyfish DNA so we could have a glow-in-the-dark translator, but for some reason she wouldn’t go for it.)

This story is fodder for a perfect news-inspired band name. The best one yet, I believe.

So someday you’ll be sifting through new releases at your favorite record store and you’ll see an album by the Transgenic Glow Pigs. Then you will know my musical world domination has begun.
