Finally, the world is beginning to recognize the power of Bad Badtz-Maru. Now the International Basketball Federation has made Badtz the mascot for the world championship in Japan next year. I don’t really care much about basketball, but I do welcome the eventual ascension of Bad Badtz-Maru to a significant cultural icon. He’s way cooler than Hello Kitty.

I remember when Badtz-Maru was introduced into the U.S.! Oh how I loved him! I had Badtz-Maru pens, pencils, stationary… He IS much cooler than hello kitty!
