I know I just got back from Thailand and have much to say about this trip, but I have to share some Shibuya nightlife fun from the other night (and try posting a video).
I met some friends at Hachiko before heading out to celebrate somebody’s birthday. Looking out over the Shibuya intersection, we noticed that people were dancing in windows of one of the main buildings. Wait, not just dancing in windows — fucking rocking out in giant Sony Walkmans.
I guess the new Walkmans are supposed to play for 50 hours, so as a promotion people are dancing in the windows facing Shibuya intersection nonstop. You can’t hear the music from the street, which makes witnessing the chaos inside each pod even better. (I’m not linking to Sony’s shit because they’re evil.)
Below is a shot of the building from across the intersection. Click on the picture to see a groovy little video (2.5 MB Quicktime file) of the hot dancing in action. I wonder if they’ll let me share my old-school breakdancing moves with Tokyo?
