I took this shot of my flat-mate observing the frozen canals. The five of us, sharing a place in London for our semester abroad, decided to take the bus (and ferry) to Amsterdam for a long weekend of Madness & Joy.

My best friend and I traveled to Amsterdam in 1998 - a girls’ week in Europe - 4 days in Amsterdam and 3 days in Paris.
The city of bicycles….. I still think Amsterdam is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Those canals… the architecture…. the people….
